GATHERING

GATHERING is a collaboration between the Viewer and the Figures that are represented. I have spontaneously and intuitively created these diverse figures. I know they are gathering...but I do not know why. I am asking YOU to provided insights into the purpose of this GATHERING.

GATHERING is much more that a work of ”art”. by adding your voice, the story continues from the perspective of others who watched the video. There is something powerful going on. Cosmic Runner
Figures continue to be created. “GATHERING” is still energized and active. This new figure, who is speeding to the earth, speaks of a cosmic intervention.

From the Cosmic Space of Hopi
When I lived in Arizona, my partner, Sharon, and I were gifted the friendship of James Koots, an Elder of the Hopi Village, Hotevilla, Third Mesa. We learned many things from James and also Grandmother Carolyn. With James, we were allowed to enter the Kiva during the Night Dances during Powamu, a time when the Kachina, Ancestral, and Guardian Spirits come to the Mesas. Deep drumming resonated in this sacred underground space as Dancers from other Villages came. Being nonindigenous I could only experience the energy and not the full meaning of this moment that continued through until morning.
Over the many years of visiting James, we learned about Hopi Prophecy and the signs of change that corresponded with the teachings. Our time in the fields below the mesas, we learned how to plant Corn in the Hopi way. We walked with James up into the Mesas as he wanted to show us certain petroglyphs along the trails and interpreted these ancient markings,
I have many experiences, too many to share here. I will go back to the creation of the Cosmic Runner. I found this Stone on one of our walks with James.
