When bringing in firewood, often times there will be a piece of Wood that calls out to me. Of course, I oblige by bringing the Wood into my studio. Sometimes I will work immediately on what image I see. More often is the case that I will set the piece of Wood within sight until I see a starting point. Once I start, I follow the directions of the Wood. I also listen to the “story” that this repurposing of the Wood contains.
Usually, the Wood speaks of something that we humans need to add to our awareness.
