Simple images that are a reflection of Nature bring me closer to the essence of the moment. While visiting Lake of the Woods, Oregon, the rising Moon telegraphed its light to the soft ripples of water. This 8.5” H x 7” W x 1.5” D is an experimental creation. This piece assembled itself. I picked up small pine twigs and was fascinated by the marks on the pine branch just under the bark. The “engravings” are made by Bark Beetles (which are not good for the tree). From an aesthetic point of view, these asemic markings have a pure beauty. The other material in “Moon over Lake” are: Mahogany, silver leaf, stove-black wax.
