Work Will Set You Free
I was going to remove this photo from my site, but I thought that I would first use it as a learning moment. I had no idea what the phrase REALLY meant until a friend told me. I just thought it was a coworker’s sense of twisted humor about working. Here is the dark meaning: Arbeit macht frei is a German phrase meaning "work sets you free". The slogan is known for appearing on the entrance of Auschwitz and other Nazi concentration camps.
I am very sorry if this image negatively affected anyone. I meant no harm. As generations go by, we must remember these hideous things so they are not repeated.
